In the US, we can’t eat bread, pizza or pasta without feeling sluggish, bloated and uncomfortable afterwards. But in Italy, these were the staples of our diet and we felt great! There is something different about Italian wheat, and having Italian wheat flour was essential for the best homemade bread, pizza and more!

We have found this flour handles long fermentation well, so it has become our “go-to” flour for sourdough, but it is also great for pancakes, waffles, birthday cakes, quick breads (think pumpkin and banana) and more!

With a protein content of ~13%, it’s ideal for creating light, airy doughs with a perfect balance of strength and tenderness.

Caputo Tipo 00 Flour is renowned for its ability to produce crisp, chewy pizza crusts, delicate fresh pasta, and artisan breads with a golden, crackling crust. Its gluten content ensures easy handling and consistent results. This flour is free of additives, preserving the pure, authentic flavor of Italian baking.

Sizing Notes And How We Use It

This flour comes in 10 2.2lb (1k) bags. We bake a lot of sourdough bread in our home, and I use roughly between 500-600g per loaf, so one bag usually makes about 2 loaves of bread!
